Pseudolioceras lythense (Young & Bird, 1828)
Compressed (flattened) discus shaped ammonite, with vertical or undercut umbilical walls (bottom edge of the whorl). Narrow top (venter) to the whorl, which has a strong sharp keel. The ribs perform sinuous curves and usually the body chamber is crushed.
Age (lithology): Upper Lias; Toarcian; Bifrons zone; Commune and Fibulatum subzones.
Actual ammonite size: 6.6cm
Distribution: Port Mulgrave, Kettleness, Sandsend, Hawsker, Ravenscar.
Occurrence: Relatively common
